The Medici Villas and Gardens represent an exceptional testimony to the cultural and artistic patronage developed by the Medici. Together with the Tuscan landscapes of which they are a part, they gave an initial and decisive contribution to the birth of a new aesthetic and lifestyle. They constituted a series of key places where ideals and trends of the Italian Renaissance emerged, which later spread throughout Europe.
Since 2013, the serial site “Medici Villas and Gardens of Tuscany,” consisting of 14 villas and gardens of the Medici family located in the region, becoming part of the UNESCO World Heritage List
