Fond\u00e9 en 1436 et con\u00e7u par l\u2019architecte <strong>Michelozzo<\/strong>, le couvent joua un r\u00f4le important dans la vie religieuse et culturelle de la ville, comme en t\u00e9moigne l\u2019histoire du fr\u00e8re Girolamo Savonarola, qui en fit son si\u00e8ge.<\/p><p>La renomm\u00e9e du mus\u00e9e est due surtout aux peintures de <strong>Beato Angelico<\/strong>, l\u2019un des plus grands peintres de la Renaissance, qui a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des fresques dans de nombreux espaces du couvent.
