I CIELI IN UNA STANZA. SOFFITTI LIGNEI A FIRENZE E A ROMA NEL RINASCIMENTO

30,00

Constructional and ornamental elements of interior space, the ceilings of churches and palaces in the 15th and 16th centuries are a compendium of technique, art and representation. An exhibition at the Uffizi brings together drawings, mostly from the collection of the Department of Prints and Drawings, illustrating ancient prototypes, from the Domus Aurea to the Temple of Bacchus in Rome, with projects by Sangallo, Vasari, Michelangelo and others. The exhibition also features paintings, engravings, models and authentic Renaissance lacunar panels. The catalogue includes essays by the curators and detailed descriptions of all the works on display.
